Hotel lobbies are perfectly suited to small, informal meetings, with comfortable seating and light refreshments. But add a dash of cool and you’ve just put a special vibe to the meeting, given it the X factor. Some of Bizly’s favorite hotels have chic, buzzy lobbies where you can do just that:

Ace Hotel Lobby Bar

Nothing says hip like the Ace. In addition to a long, power-enhanced counter table for individual work, wing-back seating groups invite conversation. Wi-Fi is free, snacks are offered throughout the day, and locals are welcome.

NoMad Hotel Library and Bar

An alternative to the Ace lobby where it can sometimes be hard to find space, the clubby NoMad Hotel Bar is just down the street. The best place for meetings is the Library, open to non-guests before 4 p.m. — perfect for a mid-day brainstorm session. Otherwise, convene in the Bar.

Mercer Hotel Lobby Bar

Meet in style at the Mercer, where the modern, sleek décor still manages to evoke a warm and friendly vibe. A wall of books lends an aura of intellectualism and gravitas to your SoHo meeting.

The Algonquin Lobby Lounge

For decades the Algonquin has attracted “the literary and artistic elite” — most notably the daily Round Table in the 1920s. But while traditional, the lobby is far from stuffy. Recently revamped, a vibrant media crowd convenes here after work.

W New York Living Room (Lexington)

W was among the first to envision hotel lobbies as meeting places, branding theirs “Living Rooms.” The recently renovated, modern space at this property accommodates a variety of seating groups, and the dark look is brightened by floor-to-ceiling windows and a fireplace.
