From Buzzwords to Side Conversations: Biggest Meeting Pet Peeves

Seat a diverse group of people in a small room, close the door, add a list of problems (known as an agenda), then throw in intermittent technology fails. This is known as a meeting. Irritations do arise.
The folks at Igloo software surveyed 1,000 people on the meeting behaviors and scenarios that most annoy, and they uncovered some not-so-surprising data. Highlights:
Not all annoyances are perceived equally: Age and gender can skew response.
Half those surveyed thought of meetings in positive terms, and the other half in negative terms.
Think outside the box took the prize for the most irksome buzz-phrase.
Biggest pet peeve? Unnecessary meetings, followed by convos that veer off-topic. Others included repeating, taking calls, side conversations and dominating.
